Sunday night after a championship season highlight video was shown in the school gymnasium, NCS Head Coach Jeff Brothers handed out championship rings to his football team to commemorate the 2015 TSSAA Class A State Title. NCS beat Greenback 42-14 at the Blue Cross Bowl in Cookeville back in December of 2015.

It was the school’s first team championship in any sport. The Eagles made their first trip to the championship game after faltering in the semi-finals the prior three seasons. Coach Brothers said after the ceremony what it meant to give the rings to those seniors, “It was a very special opportunity to say thanks again for their contributions to our school and our football program. The game was a life-long memory and getting the trophy was a life-long memory,

but getting the ring gives them something personal that they can carry around and remind them of not just that we played football and won, but of the relationships that will last a lifetime.”
