NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb proved to be a less than congenial host as the volleyball team swept Ole Miss 3-0 in the Lipscomb Invite Friday afternoon at Allen Arena.
The Lady Bisons won set one 25-23, set two 25-21 and set three 25-15.
It was the first loss of the season for Ole Miss. The Rebels, from the Southeastern Conference, entered the match with a 7-0 record.
Lipscomb, 5-2, will face Northwestern to close out the first day of the Invite at 7:30. Northwestern, 5-2, swept Virginia Tech, 4-3, in the opening match.
Lipscomb outside hitter Carlyle Nusbaum led the way offensively with a match-high 15 kills. She also added a .310 hitting percentage.
Outside hitter Lauren Anderson posted a match-high .500 hitting percentage.
Libero Brittany Thomas added a match-high 13 digs.
- Nusbaum has double figures in kills in all seven matches this season. This is the fifth time she has held the match high.
- This was the seventh match for Thomas with double figures in digs. She has recorded the match high in all seven matches, tying the high against Pepperdine.
- Lipscomb is 1-2 overall against Ole Miss.
