It’s been said that you don’t get a second chance at a first impression. Well, the off-season’s hottest trade property, P.K. Subban, took full advantage of his Predators debut with a power play goal on his first shot on goal to tie the game at 1-1 in the 1st period. Subban was also literally a hit on defense stifling the Blackhawks scoring chances late in the game.
The Predators got three power play goals on the night when Roman Josi tied the game at 2-2 with 16:33 gone in the first, and Mike Fisher scored the go ahead goal from
in front of the net 16:36 into the 2nd frame.
The third period belonged to netminder Pekka Rinne and the Predators defense as they fought off the surging Blackhawks turning away 13 shots by Chicago in the final period including holding off a 6 on 4 in the last 1:46 of the game.
The two teams turn right around and play tomorrow night in Chicago.
