The Nashville Predators continued their dominance over the St. Louis Blues, winning 2-1, to take a commanding 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven 2nd round Stanley Cup Playoff series. It was another hard-hitting game filled with many after-the-whistle scraps.
After skating to a scoreless tie after 2 periods, The Predators got on the board first with a power-play goal by Ryan Ellis at the 5:09 mark, and then James Neal added a goal at 13:03 into the frame for a 2-0 Predators lead. St. Louis broke through late, getting a goal at 16:11 to briefly silence the rowdy Predators home crowd. But Predators goalie Pekka Rinne stood tall the rest of the way and Nashville held on for the 2-1 win.
Pekka Rinne stopped 32 of 33 shots faced.
The series goes to St. Louis for Game 5 on Friday.
