Nashville, Tn

The Nashville Predators beat the St. Louis Blues 3-1 to win their 2nd Round Stanley Cup Playoff series 4 games to 2. With the win, the Predators will play in the Western Conference Finals for the first time ever in franchise history. They will play the winner of Anaheim/Edmonton.

The Predators came out sluggish and out of sync in the 1st period and got behind 1-0 early after a goal by the Blues Paul Stastny beat Predators goalie Pekka Rinne just 2:04 into the game.

But as they have done most of the season, the Predators had a good 2nd period and got the equalizer from Roman Josi only :35 seconds into the 2nd frame. The two teams went into the 3rd period tied 1-1, but Nashville got the go-ahead goal from Ryan Johansen 3:15 into the 3rd for the 2-1 lead and added a late empty-netter by Calle Jarnkrok to end the Blues season and propel the Predators into the Conference Final.

Pekka Rinne stopped 23 of 24 shots faced.
