Vanderbilt led 48-37 after the third and led 54-45 with 6:39 left in the game, but Lipscomb did not wilt, cutting into the lead bit by bit, before taking a 59-57 lead with just 32 seconds left with a big three-pointer from Bella Vinson. Vanderbilt quickly tied the game at 59-59 with a short jumper from Harbison with 28 seconds left. Neither team would score again to force overtime.

Overtime was tight throughout with Lipscomb taking a 71-70 lead with 12 seconds left after a layup by Vinson, but Vanderbilt called on Harbison again, and she responded with a drive to the basket resulting in two foul shots. She calmly hit both for the 72-71 lead. Lipscomb got off one more try, but Jalyn Holcomb’s last-second shot came up short for the Bisons.

With the win, Vanderbilt improves to 8-5 overall for the season. They will next host Alabama A&m on Wednesday. Lipscomb falls to 5-6 overall, and they will next play tomorrow at Allen Arena as they host Tennessee Wesleyan.
